This policy explains how UK Business Directory (“we”, “us”) handles personal data when you use ukbusiness.app. We are committed to complying with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.

Information we collect

• Listing submissions: business details you submit for publication, plus your name and email address so we can verify and manage the listing.
• Contact messages: your name, email address and the content of your message.
• Technical data: our hosting provider, Cloudflare, processes IP addresses and request data to deliver the site securely and protect it from abuse.

How we use it

• To review, publish and maintain business listings (legitimate interests / performance of a contract).
• To respond to your enquiries (legitimate interests).
• To keep the site secure and prevent spam (legitimate interests).

Business information you ask us to publish (such as business name, address, phone number and website) will be publicly visible. Your personal contact email will not be published.

Cookies

We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. If spam protection is enabled, Cloudflare Turnstile may process limited technical data to tell people and bots apart.

Sharing

We do not sell personal data. We share it only with service providers who help us run the site (such as Cloudflare for hosting and email delivery), or where required by law.

Retention

We keep listing data for as long as the listing is live and for a reasonable period afterwards. Contact messages are kept for up to 24 months.

Your rights

You have the right to access, correct, erase, restrict or object to the processing of your personal data, and to data portability. To exercise these rights, email hello@ukbusiness.app. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
